Sabbat Festivals
Unlike the Camarilla, the Sabbat celebrate several annual festivals.
These are sect-wide celebrations, with huge turnout
in major Sabbat strongholds around the world,
and many smaller celebrations scattered around
wherever Sabbat packs may be roaming.
The Binding
Taking place on the night of the Winter Solstice,
this solemn ceremony symbolizes the unity of the
Sabbat and the inevitability of its triumph. Local
packs gather together for this formal oath of
allegiance, and even nomadic packs will join their
settled brethren in nearby cities to observe this
rite. If possible, a higher ranking officer such as
a Bishop or Arch Bishop will lead the ritual.
The Binding takes place near to a body of water such
as the ocean, a lake or river, or a waterfall.
Fountains are also acceptable, but less powerful
images, and in the most desperate of situations a
square of white cloth may suffice. The water
symbolizes the Sabbat and its ability to overcome
any obstacle. The rite opens with a recitation of
the Sabbat's creed and often concludes with a
Vaulderie and formal oath to the sect.
For one month following the Binding, all
participants' Vinculum ratings are one higher than
normal.
