Creation Rites
The Creation Rites serve as a formal initiation into the mysteries of
the Sabbat. Newly Embraced Sabbat are not granted
the privilege of status in the sect until they have
demonstrated their worth, either in combat or in
more subtle ways. Before undergoing this ritual the
new member is considered probationary, subject to
destruction at the whim of pack members or sect
superiors. This time of probation lasts between
weeks and years depending on the qualities of the
new member and the approval of superiors. After the
Creation Rites the Cainite is Initiated into the
ranks of True Sabbat, albeit at the lowest level of
the hierarchy.
The presiding priest, that of the initiate's pack,
touches the initiate's forehead with a burning brand
and leads her in an oath of allegiance to the
Sabbat. Following this, the priest conducts a
Vaulderie.
Being subjected to the branding requires a two-trait
Courage check to resist Rotschreck. If failed, the
initiate may receive a second chance before being
destroyed as a coward.
The Sabbat, The Camarilla, and the Anarchs are fictional sects of vampires,
from White Wolf Game Studio's Vampire: The Masquerade books and role-playing games.
